I've released a new iOS app: Hunt Coordinate Converter. It's a utility app that makes sharing GPS coordinates between hunting partners seamless.
The Problem
Whether you're using onX or another GPS based hunting app, coordinate formats vary. Your hunting buddy wants latitude/longitude, but you prefer UTM. Nobody wants to manually convert between formats, especially when you're already in the field.
How It Works
The app monitors your clipboard (with your permission) in the background. Copy any coordinate—DD, DDM, DMS, or UTM—and Hunt Coordinate Converter instantly detects, converts, and copies the result back to your clipboard. The whole process happens in under a second, and the result is formatted specifically for your target device.
Features
- Automatic clipboard monitoring - No need to open the app; just copy and you're ready to paste
- Smart format detection - Recognizes DD, DDM, DMS, and UTM coordinates automatically
- Device-specific output - Optimized formatting for onX, Garmin, and generic GPS devices
- Conversion history - Your recent conversions are saved locally on your device
- iCloud sync - Optional sync across your devices (opt-in, privacy-first)
- Friendly names - Label coordinates so you remember what they represent
Privacy First
Your data stays yours. Conversions are processed entirely on your device, and if you enable iCloud sync, your history syncs through your personal iCloud account—not through any third-party service.
